Furniture Pickup Service, Scheduling and Donation Guidelines

At The Mustard Seed of Central Indiana, we believe in treating every individual with dignity. To ensure we deliver only safe, clean, and functional furniture to those rebuilding their lives, please review our pickup guidelines before scheduling.
🚫 What We Cannot Accept
To protect the well-being of our clients and due to safety and space limitations, we are unable to accept the following:
Broken, stained, burned, ripped, or heavily scratched items
Furniture with missing parts, excessive pet hair, or odor
Infant and toddler items, including cribs and car seats
King-size mattresses, box springs, or medical/hospital beds
Sleeper sofas, washers/dryers, televisions, or electronics
Our pickup drivers have final decision on what items are accepted for donation.
♻️ Optional Item Removal (Disposal)
Have an item that doesn’t qualify for donation but you still want it gone? Our team can remove it for a disposal fee, based on size and condition: see below. Donation fees help cover rehoming, recycling, or landfill costs and keep our operations sustainable.
💛 Why Are You Paying To Donate? Because we can’t do it without your help! To keep our trucks on the road and serve more Central Indiana households, we request a donation-based service fee for all furniture pickups. Your contribution helps cover fuel, labor, warehouse space, insurance, and logistics.

Online (preferred – link below - donation requests may vary if your pickup is out of the ordinary - final quote will be provided after we confirm a date).

🪑 Premium Pickup: Oversized & Heavily Used Furniture
We now offer Premium Pickup for items that are older, oversized, or less suited for client homes — including sectionals, hutches, recliners, and armoires/curio cabinets. These may be resold through our Donate to Sell program, with proceeds supporting operations.
📦 Drop-Off Option
Want to drop off your donation instead? Please email, call, or text us in advance to confirm staffing. We are in and out of the office and warehouse and don’t want to miss your call but can usually reply to an email or text promptly as we are often on the road or remote
