“What is The Mustard Seed and how do you help the community?”
At The Mustard Seed, we operate a furniture bank – similar to a food pantry, but instead of canned goods, we provide gently used furniture to those in need. We collect donations from the community, work closely with social service agencies, organizations, and businesses to distribute that furniture and sometimes, housewares, to individuals and families in Central Indiana.
Furniture is essential for creating a stable and comfortable home. For those coming out of homelessness or overcoming hardships, the burden of furnishing a home can be overwhelming. Whether they’re veterans recovering from PTSD, single parents building a safe home for their children, survivors of domestic violence, or individuals rebuilding their lives after addiction, your donation can make a difference. Having a bed to sleep in, a table to eat from, and a place to sit allows them to focus on creating a healthier and stable future.
To ensure someone is available to receive your donation, we kindly ask that you call or email us in advance at info@mustardseedindy.org before coming by.
