What We Need

The Mustard Seed of Central Indiana is a social service/humanitarian aid agency that depends on the community to donate essential furniture and housewares so we can serve those fighting poverty.  Rehoming your furniture and essential wares helps restore others’ hope and stability in housing and is good for the planet!

MISCELLANEOUS
Lamps - End Tables – Coffee Tables - Laundry Supplies - housewares such as towels, bedding, sheets, dish sets, kitchenware, etc.    Everything should be clean and boxed for pickup.    All items are left to driver discretion based on space.  Items may also be dropped off at our office during business hours - currently Fridays 11-4 pm. 
WE DO NOT ACCEPT: 
*Up to driver discretion pending size, manpower, and tools needed. Items should be disassembled if at all possible, if not an additional donation may be requested.   Tube TVS  (flat screens must be working), Electronics,  Oversized Entertainment Centers (additional fee), Sleeper Sofas (additional fee), Oversized Armoires (additional fee), King Mattresses,   and medical equipment/beds., and no stained or damaged items.  We may be able to "haul-away"such items but please inquire at time of booking.  Additional donation may be requested pending item.  Drivers have a "menu" of donation fees based on circumstances (stains, damages, excessive weight)  **A receipt will be provided for every transaction. Tipping not expected. Donations should be kept separate from the service fee if you do choose to tip.   Please contact office directly for any concerns or issues with pickups.

In 2024, thanks to the generosity of our community, we provided 2,168 pieces of furniture to 206 individuals and families helping turn empty spaces into warm, welcoming homes.

As you clean out your home, office, hotel, or rental property this please consider donating your gently used furniture to help someone starting fresh after homelessness, institutional care, or crisis.

A financial donation directly supports our mission to end furniture poverty by providing essential furniture and household items to families and individuals transitioning from homelessness or other challenging circumstances.

Every $500 donated helps furnish one home, providing a bed, couch, dining set, and other essential items. This transforms empty apartments into comfortable homes where families can thrive.

Donations help cover transportation, warehouse costs, and logistics necessary to collect, store, and distribute furniture to those in need efficiently.
